Marakoopa Coffee

We are located at Mayberry, a quiet 10 minute drive west of Mole Creek, on the road to Marakoopa Cave.

Our coffee and tea garden is in a gorgeous setting, with Western Bluff as its backdrop on the very edge of the Great Western Tiers. The gardens are a delight to wander around, with benches and chairs to relax on as you drink your coffee and enjoy a toasted sandwich and/or homemade muffin. There are Indian Runner ducks, Rhode Island Red chickens, sheep, geese and a goat for the delight of children, as well as plenty of space to kick a football or run around. A picnic rug can be supplied for those of you with tiny ones to relax in the shade of the birch trees, enjoy the view and smell the coffee! We are even happy for you to bring your well-behaved canine friend, as long as they are kept on a lead and the owner is responsible for clearing up any parcels!cycling-friendly business logo

And to all you cyclists, we are on the Meander Valley Great Caves Ride cycling route, so why not come in and refresh with a bite to eat and a cuppa or an ice cream before you carry on with your journey? (We are a cycling-friendly business and have basic puncture repair kits and air pump if minor repairs are needed.)

Our food

We offer a variety of food, from delicious toasted sandwiches, served with a side salad, to homemade muffins, brownies and cookies. Throughout winter we will have homemade soup. Why not try an award-winning Van Diemans Land gelato after your meal? We do our best to use homegrown ingredients or those sourced locally or from Tasmania and can supply all the food to take away, if you are in a hurry.

Check out our food menu for more information.

Our coffee

We serve Ritual Coffee’s Daily Blend, a medium roast coffee, accenting the natural acidity of the beans. Specially roasted in Tasmania in the Ritual tradition, Daily Blend is the culmination of 5 origins, using Brazilian Santos as the base and body. Then, a blend of Kenyan AB (rich chocolate after-taste), Colombian Supremo (spicy notes), Papua New Guinea Kimel (fruit and sugar) and Ethiopian Limu (savoury earthiness) is created. Each origin is roasted separately, at different temperatures and for different lengths of time, then cupped – providing the unique profile taste.  In the cup, Ritual Daily Blend is sweet, with fruity notes and earthy flavours, finishing with a chocolatey aftertaste.  The blend is strong enough to bring out the real coffee flavours in all milk-based beverages, which by far are the most sought after beverages in Australia.

We also serve specialty teas, hot chocolate, iced coffee (made with real coffee and ice cream), milk shakes, juices and soft drinks.
